A Quiet Cuppa

Evelyn staggered, almost dropping her kettle, as the two children cannoned past her.
"John, Gillian!" an old man yelled. "Be careful! Oh, I do apologise."
"I'm fine, really," Evelyn said. "It's just nice to see someone else here who's out of nappies. I'm Evelyn Smythe."
"I'm the Doctor." He looked around the pub, then added, "The original. Care to join me, my dear?"
"I'd be delighted." They sat in a booth, and Evelyn poured some hot water into a cup.
"Tea?" the Doctor asked.
Evelyn pulled a tin from her bag. "No, I..." But the Doctor was already skittering away.
