TTR / LWT - Third Time Lucky? (Double-Drabble)
By John Elliott

"Are you sitting comfortably?" asked Izzy. "Then-"
The door opened.
"Oh no, you two again."
"Can we sing something else?" said Zoe.
"No."
"Away you go, then."
A spinning glassy cone swooped down onto Izzy and then spun away, leaving
her chair empty.
"Now, children," began Zoe brightly. "We're going to sing a nice ballad for
you..."

Zoe closed the story book, pausing to admire the illustration opposite the
last page of the song.
"I thought that went pretty well," she said.
"Aye, it just shows what can be done if ye introduce them to good music at
a young age."
"I meant putting the Master in the song."
"It served the smug wee cealgaire right."
Zoe looked round at the gambolling children. A disconcerting thought struck
her.
"Jamie," she asked. "Did the Monk say when he'd bring Izzy /back/?"
"He didnae exactly give a time, no."
"Then what did he tell you?"
"I think it was something like, 'When I get round to it.'"
"Oh."
"Is there something wrong?"
"Do you happen to know anything about changing nappies?"
"What? Of course not."
"Me neither." She wrinkled her nose. "But I think we're going to have to
learn really quickly..."
